Green

And now I have green everywhere.
Vivid, bright green color is a discovery for me. Until now, when I decided to move away from my small pallet of colors (black, grey, white) I would choose red or very dark green. But when I saw that color – I went mad. I bought it in a spur of the moment, but I haven’t believed that I would make wool for myself. Wool is here already, and soon there will be a small sweater.

Lace, lace, lace...

My Merino Lace 2ply.

I thought that I won’t finish this thread. A single one was 2130m! Double one was 1065m. It’s very soft and springy. I think it’ll be excellent for a beautiful shawl… this time it’ll be something Shetland.

I also ordered pure wool (Shetland, too) for sweater for my husband and I’ll be trying Navajo ply on it!
Pssssssssss, it will be present for him. He ask me for it every single Christmas … so, now I have a time :)

Practicing plying

Today I’m absolutely sure that in my past life I was on Earth and I was spinning wool.
Experimentation took me several days. Every evening I read my new books "Spin Control" by Amy King and "Spinning Designer Yarns" by Diane Varney and repeat after their authors. Samples are the key.
Practicing plying, I failed at 4ply, so I have 3ply :).
Beautiful Corriedale with mohair, natural and grey, for shawl. For 4ply I need same tools to provide the single yarns.

Silk

I’m still at the beginning, and there are a lot of thing ahead of me.
I finished trials with 100% silk. It was difficult.I spend most of my attention on keeping the thread straight. I prepared 2ply Lace Weight, but I think I will use pure silk for thicker products. I really like singles that do show the depths of color.
